Poly ethylene glycol is obtained by polymerization of ethylene oxide and water, mono ethylene glycol or diethylene glycol. Polyethylene glycol abbreviated as PEG also has poly polyethylene or poly ethylene oxide. It is a water-soluble and nontoxic synthetic polyether.
Poly ethylene glycol, alcohol component in ester production, and effective solvents for basic paints and some paint bases. Poly ethylene glycol is used as a solvent for basic paints in flexographic inks and as a solvent and dispersant in the paint and ceramic industry. Poly ethylene glycol is also used in the office supply industry to formulate inks with high coverage.
